The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the life-cycle of a water company and its strategic decision making, and then to suggest possible changes to improve the business. For the purpose of the thesis the selected water company was CEVAK a.s. located in České Budějovice. The first section of the thesis contains a theoretical description of the company's life-cycle and strategic management. The strategic management section mainly contains strategic analyses as it is a very important part of decision making. The theoretical section is mainly processed from literary sources and also contains theoretical schemes. The second part is an analysis of the chosen water company. This section also contains a description of how the water company works, how it generates profit, price making and business relations. This section also contains a description of how the water company works, how it generates profit, price making and business relations. The last section of the thesis contains suggestions for improvement in the company. The bulk of this part discusses better integration of the company into the life of citizens.

Strategic decisions in a company

The main goals of the thesis were to prepare an analysis of activities of strategic management, to improve the synergy between strategic and operational management, to enhance the quality of strategic decisions in selected company. The first step was to study and comparison of Czech and foreign professional literature and make literary summary that gives the reader into the issue of strategic management. The practical part is performed by first analysis of the current state of strategic and operational management in selected company through the following analyzes: STEP analysis, industry analysis, financial analysis, guided interview with the director of the company. Based on the results of previous analyzes were determined strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats of the company. Their influence is compared in the SWOT analysis. The last part presents proposals for measures that would lead to improving the coordination of strategic and operational management and an overall improvement in key areas of the company.

Zakládání regionálních sdružení vinařů v České republice

Dissertation analyzes the main reasons for the emergence of new regional associations of wine producers whose aim is to capture the concept of regional typicalness trend in the wine region of Moravia in the southeast part of the Czech Republic. The main research aim is to create a plan for new development of such associations on the basis of results of localization factors. There coefficient of localization is used for identification of cluster, a new analytical tool to asses options for establishing a regional association is the concentration coefficient of vineyards. Results are compared with already operating on associations for the appellation in Austria DAC. The dissertation also shows the major forms of cooperation wine-growers and wine producers abroad, which could serve as a source of inspiration for the wine cluster initiatives in the Czech Republic. They were traced changes in consumer preferences in the Czech wine market. Consumers are placing more emphasis on the selection of wine on its descent from a particular area, growing community and the individual grower. The dynamic development of the wine category, major changes in market and consumer demand are the main causes for the formation of associations of small and medium-sized wineries. This paper specifically introduces new associations for appellation system VOC. This alliance is described in the context of the establishment, operation, development and expansion, respectively the possibility of involvement of additional organizations suppliers and research institutions. Based on the experience of newly emerging VOC system of appellations was setting up a plan of formation association with the proposed methodological approach. Results of this research were used in the establishment of other emerging associations of VOC. Open cooperation between associations VOC appellation and other entities involving suppliers, customers, research institutions and universities has the possibility of creating an institutionalized wine cluster. Some practical experience of the new members of wine associations mentioned in this thesis may find applications in other wine regions. Strategic decision-making in developing of small business

Saaty method is an advanced method of paired comparison method. The decision-maker first, the preferential relations pairs of criteria and the size of this preference. The size of the preferences expressed by the score of the selected point scale (see Table 27, s.39). In this step, described the decision maker obtains the matrix size preferences, or if the Saaty matrix. The weights of the criteria in the Saaty method can provide exact and aproximativními procedures. Due to the complexity and software complexity of exact methods in this thesis will be devoted to procedures aproximativním. Estimates of the weights of the criteria can be obtained by adding the elements in each row of the matrix and dividing their sum. The determination of the individual lines are estimates of the weights of the relevant criteria.
